our story

Arugam Bay is a small village, native to fishermen, and people living a basic life during the 30-year civil war. Until the old school Australian surfers arrived, then slowly more and more people began coming and discovering it as a prime tourist destination.



We use all the resources we have to share what we know and understand about our village with our guests to provide them with a true local and authentic experience.

Our traditional country kitchen is inspired by how our mothers cooked for us using home-grown and organic ingredients; if you are unable to stay with us, you can still enjoy our food and lush gardens by placing an order two hours in advance of each meal.

We are commited to being sustainable and eco-friendly by growing fruits and vegetables on our nearby farm, composting leaves and food scraps, using solar energy, adopting a zero plastic policy, and digging three ground wells to supply us with fresh natural water.
